Niel Sy leads design across physical, digital, service, and product experiences — working at the intersection of humans, business, and the future. His focus is on helping teams move from discovery to delivery, and from now to next, through thoughtful, human-centred design.
Currently at BP, Niel drives transformative design initiatives across technology. He also teaches human-centred design globally through IDEO U. Previously, he served as an enterprise innovation architect at Deloitte London office, and led the Nano Labs, Liquid Studio, and Design Thinking Capability at Accenture in Manila.
Niel Sy’s design approach begins by creating space — space to listen, to learn, and to imagine what is possible. He believes in designing with people, not just for them, centering empathy and collaboration at every stage of the process.
His work follows a thoughtful arc: from discovery to delivery, and from now to next. Niel applies design thinking as both a mindset and a method, blending systems thinking, storytelling, and strategy to craft experiences that are human-centred, scalable, and sustainable. Whether shaping a product, a service, a workshop, or a strategic vision, Niel connects the dots between user needs, organizational goals, and long-term impact — building not just solutions, but spaces where meaningful change can take root.
